Please Review my Letter of Motivation for KTH University Sweden Machine Learning

Dear Sir/Madam,

With this Letter, I would like to express my motivation in applying for Masters of Machine Learning program offered at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. My name is [Name], I graduated with a strong CPGA of 9.04 out of 10 in Bachelor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from [Home Uni], India and currently, I am working at [Company]as a [Role].

Over the course of four years, I studied various courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-oriented programming, Operating Systems, Microcontroller Architecture, Digital Signal Processing and Advanced Processors through which I gained significant academic knowledge. Interestingly, it was when I opted for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as the elective subjects in my final year of university that I was exposed to exciting principles and issues in the domain of machine learning. Consequently, I wanted to apply my theoretical knowledge into developing a real time software. Therefore, I chose the topic of my major project in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

For my project, I designed, developed and demonstrated a software which could remove unwanted background noise by using an Artificial Intelligence Engine, thereby providing clean audio to the user. The software could also separate instrumental and vocal audio from a song track. During the project development phase, I performed data pre-processing and model training with the help of pre-defined techniques such as feature transformation and deep learning algorithms like convolutional neural networks.

In our modern world of ever-advancing technology, computers can learn, communicate and make highly accurate decisions, significantly faster than humans. Extensive studying and research in the field of Machine Learning over the last few decades has made this possible. I believe Machine Learning is the keystone in shaping the future of software technology, an industry I strongly desire to become an integral part of.

KTH encourages an atmosphere that enriches all aspects of individuals and helps them achieve their maximum potential and create their own distinct personality. I am sure that at KTH, I will be engaging in a comprehensive learning society that will assure growth in my higher studies and eventually in my career. The well-established infrastructure and the variety of subjects that KTH provides, will assist me in gaining a larger viewpoint and reflect positive change in me.

I believe that the mandatory courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Degree Project in Computer Science and Engineering are bound to amplify my current expertise in Machine Learning. Furthermore, I am eager to contribute my skillset to the Machine Learning program at KTH. By studying the elective courses that are unique to the Machine Learning program at the university such as Deep Learning in Data Science, Music Informatics and Image Analysis and Computer Vision I will undoubtedly enhance my career profile as a Machine learning Engineer.

My experiences have molded me into what I am today. My belief is that the master’s degree will give shape to the professional I envision myself to become. I look at this letter as a hope to pursue my ideas and skills in the company of people with whom I can contribute to new ideas, discuss theories and make an impact on our human society in the long run.
