A valet is a personal servant. In this case, you pull your car up to the door of the establishment, and the "parking valet" parks it for you. When you're ready to leave, he brings your car up to the door for you.

A parking lot is generally assumed to be for self-parking - like at the supermarket.

If you're speaking about your room or apartment number (the number on the door) you'd probably say, "two oh four."

"approached the car" would be "came out toward the car."
