Please,answer my question !

um ..i'm an english student and i have a subject called : international tests ..

it is about kinds of test and thier strateges ,,however, tody i have been tested and the following question confused me .. so i wish i see your answers about it ..

here it is :

Why should you get rid of double negatives ?

a) less writing to read

b) they don't belong in the sentence

c) should make the statement true

d) all of they above

..

i choosed (c) because i asked my classmate about the teacher's answer and she said ( c) is the answer ..

but, after the test i found that the teacher's answer was (b) ..

even though i still stuck with my answer (c )

so, what do you think ..?!

Double negatives aren't not right. They're just unwieldy. For example, you'll see "not unkindly" or "not unhappily" or "not displeased", etc. fairly frequently, even in professional writing.
