"Please thank your dad for me for helping me out with my work."

Hi all

I am wondering if this sounds natural with the double 'for'. Thank you.

While the sentence don't contain a grammar mistake, the structure "please tell your father I say thank you for [...]" sounds much more natural and is more legible in general.
