Please tell me which word you'd choose and which leave out

Could you please help me pick the right word or tell me if some words are optional?



  • Try to be finished/done with your work by the time I get here.



  • You cab pick/choose what post you want to occupy.



  • The noise scared me since/as/because I was asleep.



  • I had a hard time waking up just like every other day. (does this mean everday or every 2 days? And is this how you’d say it?)



  • Coffee is supposed to wake you up and keep you awake. (can you say this) don’t know



  • I used the computer during/on my break.



  • Make sure all the print is (in) the same font and size. (in??) how would you say this?

The above sentences are correct either way you choose to write them

I would agree on most of the answers mentioned above - with one exception:

"every other day" usually means "every second day"!

-> in this context, the expression "every other day" really isn't very clear.

You might rather say: "I had a hard time waking up, just like any other day." Or even: "I had a hard time waking up, just like every morning."
