It's hard to say exactly what the original intent was without any context, but dying without anyone noticing is not the same as dying without being recognized. Someone could notice that someone/something is dying without recognizing who or what it is.

thanks for the comment.. from the question i made all i wanted to know if the construction of the sentence is correct..
for instance, the subject of my sentence is Mariposa-- which is well known in dying without being recognized.. NOW, here is the thing i want to know.. if i say that "mariposa is very amazing in a sense that "it is dying that no one recognizing it" or i should say " it is dying that no one is recognizing it" from the two sentences. should i put "is"? or no need to put that word? please respond.. thanks in advance.

This is my two cents offering. I personally think "Mariposa-- which is well known is dying without being recognized" is a weak construction. I don't know the full context of your essay but I think since Mariposa is the theme, merely mentioning its fame without expanding on it showed a lack of effort. I believe you can make your topic a little lore colorful and here are some suggestions: Mariposa, nested in the southernmost part of the Yosemite Valley in California, and famous for its amazing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Sequoia and untouched natural beauty, is slowly dying without the realization of the public......
