Dear mr/ms native speakers.Please explain the following sentence gramatically.
''The decision to evaluate the cognitive effects of drugs with the progressive hypoxia that would be experienced on ascent was based on the presumed greater impact on cognitive function 12 min of hypoxia at 15,000 ft would have on
a subsequent 12-min exposure at 10,000 ft compared to the reverse and the ability to compare the findings to other studies which use an ascent paradigm to study hypoxia."
