You need a full clause, not a reduced clause. That makes the subject and verb of each clause independent.

You also need a word that introduces a dependent clause such as "when," or add the conjunction "and" to connect the two clauses.

She was frightened by the scream and the glass dropped...
When she was frightened by the scream, and the glass droppe
