He had average grades, as he failed to invest himself in the learning process. He did not have to repeat any of the grades.

Hi, GPY! I am using the word "grade" in the same sense as I would say "I had to repeat the second grade" (take the same classes for another year). Don't you say it like that in English?

It depends on location. In certain countries, such as the US, yes. In the UK, no. However, the difficulty (for me) is that the word seems to have different meanings in th
