In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want without paying. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this statement.

Technology has enabled people to have almost all kind of reading materials such as magazines or books online without purchasing it. Hence, it is forecasted that all people will switch from traditional digital books. I am partially convinced with the notion, but it will not be able to completely wipe out the demands of printed books.

Digitalization has several benefits due to which majority of people will accept the use of electronic books. These books can be downloaded for free from anywhere, at any time. To put in another way, e-books can be saved in electronic devices such as mobile phone or tablets and one can have access of it all the time without paying extra money. For instance, many people buy library membership to have access of more books in less money. Moreover, the principal advantage of online books is that they are environmentally friendly. It is obvious that the use of digital reading materials has significantly reduced the need of woods. The direct repercussion of this is the decrease in deforestation. In my view, in future more people will shift towards the digitalization to protect the world from global warming.

On the other hand, many people will opt for traditional books despite of numerous merits of online books due to some reasons. Older people find it difficult to read online compare to offline books. A good illustration of this is that the rays from the electronic devices negatively impact their vision and makes reading harder for them. Another reason is the lack of understanding, many people do not consider electronic devices are to be user-friendly. In other words, people are not familiar with their usage. Thus, I would argue that digitalization will not be able to completely replace the traditional books.

In conclusion, I slightly agree with the prediction that most of the people will read online books due to notable merits such as cost effective and environment friendly . In spite of these benefits, some people will prefer to have traditional books due difficultly in operating electronic devices and adverse impact on eyes.
