i am not a native speaker. the following passage is a translation i did from ancient Chinese. i feel it is not idiomatic but i hope that you can get the general idea of it. please give me some advice on how to revise it. many thanx.
Confucius said:" one should be faithful and honest, willing and eager to learn?one should scrupulously abide by the principle of being merciful and caring to others in his entire lifetime. one should not enter a country which besets with crisis nor reside in a country which is turbulent. if it is a just society, one should make his own contribution to the public. if there is corrupt polictics, one should seclude. It is a shame to be impoverished and humble in a flourishing country. it is also a shame to own high rank and great wealth in a politically corrupt country."
