My Teacher is not satisfied with this, maybe you can combine these 2 sentences into a more complex one.

Although both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X were both influential civil rights activists who had very significant differences in their background and methods of delivery in their message of equality, King was a visionary where he dreamed of equality, differed from Malcolm X who was an extremist.

Although Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X dominated the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, their backgrounds, methods, and rhetoric differed greatly.
