In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people.
Why might this be the case?
Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Many people prefer buying a house to renting a place to live in some countries including my nation. I think it might be a reasonable idea in certain circumstance, but it is not always a right choice for everybody.
In some countries, especially in Eastern Asia like our country, having an own house is one of the three most important tasks for every adult man: building a home, buying a buffalo, and marrying a wife. Through this traditional thought, many people believe that possessing a house is essential condition for a flourished career. Houses is considered not only a lodging but also a high value property that parents save for their children. Until now, many parents still dislike the fact that children prefer renting a flat to saving money for a house because they think renting is similar to unstable life. Otherwise, when living in a rental appartment, a tenant cannot manage his/her living spaces freely. They cannot modify or renovate the house without the approval of the owner.
In my opinion, possessing a house will be positive if it is affordable and does not engender any overwhelming burden for buyers. Many young people in big cities now have to struggle with the skyrocketting house prices. Someone make huge loans from banks to buy houses and become bankcrupt later due to their malpractice of personal budget.
To sum up, owning a house is a good choice that everyone can consider according to their financial status. However, trying to buy an expensive house by any means is never a smart decision.
