In some areas of the US, a “curfew” is imposed, in which teenagers are not allowed to be out of doors after a particular time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult.

What is your opinion about this?

In the United States, the government usually want the young citizens must be safe. As a result, they’ve enforced a curfew in some areas, and teenagers are not allowed to go out after a particular time at night if an adult doesn’t accompany with them. To my way of thinking, the government shouldn’t create a curfew.

For the first reason, a young person knows how to protect himself/herself to dangers. When a girl hangs out with her friends, and she doesn’t go with her parents. Then, she must go home alone, she’ll discern apparently that going out at night is quite perilous, so she’s likely to does these things, so that she can be more safe: First, providing information for her parents where she is being and where she will be before hang out, because if there’s something happens, and everyone doesn’t see she go home, they will have the clues to find her. Second, she’ll bring the pepper spray with her or avoids going to neglected places and places lack light, so that she’ll be more safe from crimes.

For the other reasons, the adults are also uncomfortable if they usually accompany with their children. Some people are busy with their works such as housework or tasks in the company which they haven’t finished, out of doors with children isn’t appropriate because they don’t have sufficient time to do all works just for one night, and the works are likely slowed. Fortunately, they can still go out with their children for purchasing something. In addition, a meeting with friends shouldn’t have the appearance of adults because teenagers will be embarrassed as they aren’t familiar with an accompaniment of adults.

To conclude, for the reasons mentioned above, I believe that a curfew shouldn’t be imposed because it isn’t comfortable for either adults or young people. In my opinion, the US should has other solutions to bring the safety for the youth.
