Global warming is the biggest threat we face today.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

My essay:

Nowadays, there is an pressing problem that the humanity has to tackle is that the threat of global warming. I totally agree with them because global warming is a phenomenon of rising the average Earth’s temperature, and this caused a variety of severe effects on the environment and human beings.

To begin with, one of the obvious effects of global warming is melting glacier in both Earth’s poles. As a result, a series of consequences of this phenomenon happens, such as rising the sea level, hurricanes, tsunami for most of the countries all over the world. It destroys the facilities, infrastructures, crops, and threatens to human’s life. Many countries have to spend a lot of money annually to make compensation for their citizen loss and recover the economy. In Turkey, for example, yesterday they had to experience a serious hurricane that broke down high buildings, killed many people and damaged their properties.

Furthermore, global warming also leads to longer droughts in many countries in the world. The people do not have water for their activities as well as their farming, which results in the shortage of food supply that means the lack of essential nutrients, so they become more easier to get disease. In addition, the droughts even caused wildfires, and this is a reason for loss of biodiversity, which leads to the greenhouse effects – a cause for global warming, and it becomes an unlimited circle. In Australia, for example, wildfire occurs annually that destroys a series of forests, damages to the human and animals’ life.

In conclusion, I totally agree with the point that global warming is the biggest threat that human beings have to face nowadays because it results in a lot of natural disasters which impact on people and environment.
