The diagram illustrates how a particular Australian town harvests rainwater and sends it to use. Overall, there are 3 main stages involved in the process, starting with the collection of precipitation and ending with reusing the water for daily consumption.

At the first stage of the process, rainwater that falls on the rooftop is collected by the gutters on the side of the house and then runs down to the pipes at the bottom. After that, it goes through the water filter to eliminate any impurities before being stored in a storage tank.

In the subsequent stage, the water flows to the water treatment where it is treated with chemicals so that it becomes clean enough for drinking. After the water has been processed, it goes up pipes again to each house and is ready for use.
