The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.


the given bar chart provides information regarding the time spent by the UK residents on fixed lines and mobiles during a period of 17 years starting from 1995. the statistics figures are of minutes in billion .call types are divided into 3 categories the local ones, the international and national group, as well as calls done by mobile.


overall as time goes on an upward trend in mobile usage along with the rise in international and national calls is observed. while on the other hand, the local calls have a fluctuating trend. in 1995 over 70 billion minutes of the general calls were done from local fixed lines, a gradual increase is demonstrated from this point on. the peak of 90 million minutes of calls is reached in 1999 and the local calls met a downward trend afterward which led to the approximate number of70 billion in 2002 again.

in 1995 mobile, besides, national and international calls were roughly 5 billion minutes and a little less than 40 billion minutes respectively. at the end of the time duration, the mobile calls reached almost 45 billion, and the international and national calls were just over 60 billion in 2002.
