Overall, the car is the most popular transport in European countries. In addition, the Danish make far greater use of various means of transportation than people in other countries while the amount of time used to commute of British and German people are the highest.
Looking at the first two charts in more detail, the number of kilometers per year Danish citizens traveling by car and public transport is the highest, with just over 12000 and 3000, respectively. The car usage in Germany and Spain is the lowest in six countries and is lower than the EU average (10000), slightly over 8000 and nearly 9000 kilometers per year, respectively. French and British people travel by public transport about 1000 kilometers per year, which triples less than the Danish.
Turning to the remaining chart, UK and Germany spend time the most commuting, with approximately 47 and 46 minutes per day, respectively. By contrast, Italians spend time commuting the lowest with just over 20 minutes per day.
