Please review my writing ielts task 1

The bar chart compares the number of men and women who participated in the Olympics between 1924 and 2012. The line graph illustrates the number of participants entering the Olympics during that period.
Overall, while there was a significant increase in the figures for male and female participants who entered the Games, the number of male participants was much higher than that of women. In addition, the number of participants also saw a remarkable rise over the period shown.
In 1924, the number of men entering the Olympics was 3000 and then continued its rising trend to a peak of nearly 6000 in 2012. In contrast, a few female participants entered the Games in 1924, only about 100. However, this figure experienced a dramatic increase to around 5000 in 2012, only approximately 1,000 lower than male participants.
The number of participants showed an upward trend between 1924 and 2012. The figure for participants was slightly over 3000 in 1924 and then peaked at approximately 11000 at the end of the period.
