Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foregin country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion

People have different views about studying a foreign language. While some would argue that travelling and working in a different nation is the only purpose, I still believe that there are more underlying purposes to studying another language.

There are several reasons why people might think studying a different language is just for migrating overseas in search of work or getting away for holidays. First, it is a common thought for people who are bilingual, as they are able to visit various nations in which a lot of dissimilar languages are spoken without difficulty. In fact, they are more likely to experience more new things such as cultural differences, local speciality easier as they can communicate to native residents. By learning a foreign language, moreover, people who know more than their mother tounge could get a good job, which are flexible and multi-skilled positions quickly.

In spite of above arguements, I support the idea that there are a variety of intentions why more and more people want to be multibilingual. First, most well-known books are in English or Spainish or Japanese. Take “ Harry Potter” is a case in point, which provided a wide range of imagination. This means, bilingual people can broaden their knowledge through books which help them connect with the culture of the books. Second, if someone can use more than monolingual, they are enable to widen their friend zones. For example, my sister works in an English center, she makes many foreign friends than me.

In conclusion, it is commonly believed that people learn another language except their mother tounge for a conventional aim. I think there are diverse aims for that.
