Students are becoming more and more reliant on the Internet. While the Internet is convenient, it has many negative effects and its use for educational purposes should be restricted.
How far do you agree with this statement?
With the widespread distribution of Internet providing services, it is generally believed that increasingly more students are overly dependent on the Internet. Because of this, some people think that there should be restrictions imposed on the use of the Internet for education. In my view, though I do agree that the overuse of online platforms may result in lower academic performance, I also think that the Internet should be encouraged as it promotes self-education and stirs the enthusiasm of learners
On the one hand, many students have a tendency to utilize online software for entertainment rather than for academic purposes. This, in turn, reduces the time allocated for studying and doing assignments. As a result, students may run the risk of academically underperforming if their use of the Internet is not monitored.
On the other hand, it is an undeniable fact that the Internet has rendered the learning experience more interesting for students. Obviously, the majority of learners find it challenging to understand abstract concepts. However, with the support of vivid illustrations and academic material downloaded from websites, students can have a better understanding of the mechanism behind every subject. Moreover, students can also self-study by means of academic forums. They can ask questions and receive thorough feedback from experts around the globe. For example, when in need of evaluation, usually post my writing assignment online to be evaluated by people as well as professionals.
In conclusion, while supporting the educational implications of the Internet, I also think that students should be carefully controlled when using online entertainment programs.
