Topic: Do you agree or disagree that progress is always good? Your essay should include specific reasons.
Evolution always plays an vital part in the development of humanity. Overtime, by making progress we have changed our life from the simple origin to the great civilization. Without progress, there would be no development of our living standard, our healthcare and so on. Therefore, I totally agree that making progress is important, but the case is not always. My opinion should be specifically demonstrated with the following reasons.
On the first hand, science and technology has been somewhat we get used to, providing our life with comfort and convenience. As a society makes progress, science and other fields tend to develop as well, which lead to more and more demands satisfied. For instance, the mortality rate from kinds of disease and warfare has significantly decreased because of the improvement made in healthcare services. Hence, progress always plays a major role in the history of humanity, without which we merely cannot advance our living standard.
On the other hand, it should be taken into account that progress, along with the benefits generated, results in kinds of environmental issue. Firstly, as the industrial evolution emerged, efforts has been put into the exploitation of natural resources. Secondly, more and more factories are established and put into operation on purpose of our increasing demands for production. Consequently, natural resources would soon run out and severe environmental pollutions would occur due to the development of science, afterward the progress.
With these evidences given, in conclusion, I agree that progress is good and efficient but the issue is not always. Development is somewhat essential and instinctive, to make progress is inevitable as the history goes. Therefore, we should be sensible of keeping progress under control so as to limit the drawbacks and maintain the benefits.
