Please review my TOEIC essay

Topic: Some people enjoy working alone. Others would rather work in a group. What is your preference? Explain why.

Many people think that working in a group is more advantageous than working alone. Others claim the opposite. For me, I favor the idea of working independently. By working in this way, people work more efficiently, follow their own schedule and come up with excellent ideas.

To start with, people focus on their work-related tasks entirely when they block out all distractions – including interactions with coworkers. When people work in a group, they waste time to talk about other things that aren’t related to work. They also use up time trying to unify their thoughts and ideas. On the other hand, independent people spend time accomplishing their work as soon as possible, which increases productivity and efficiency. Moreover, when they finish their tasks without distractions, they will have enough time taking care of family and relaxing after a hard-working day.

In addition, people tend to choose working alone because they can self-manage their work. Employees determine their goals, milestones and schedules. They decided what to do and when they do. They do not have to follow others’ schedules and wait for them to finish their part so that they can do their parts. Working in this way makes workers more free and enjoyable, which helps them to increase motivation to work more effectively.

Finally, people think much better when they work alone. People who love working as a team can be distracting by other team member’s ideas and opinions. It can take their concentration away from works. However, when working independently, no one works alongside them or looks over their shoulders to make sure they are on the right task. They don’t have to justify their actions to others or worry about what other people think. From that, they only concentrate on work and come up with excellent ideas.

All in all, working alone or working in a group has its own advantages and disadvantages. People can choose any ways, which are suitable to work effectively. For me, however, it is preferable to work alone. I do much better work this way.
