Please review my task 2 Ielts writing

Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters (such as food, clothes and entertainment) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.

With the strictness easing in parenting and education, whether the children should be entitled to make their own decisions or not has drawn much discussion among parents. While those agrue that it is autonomous for children to make their choices, I against this opinion due to the possibility of developing arrogance.

On the one hand, if youngster are given chances to follow their own decisions, their cognitive ablities and critical thinking will be comprehensively stimulated. To begin with, when encountering problematic issue, childrens’ brain will interpret by weighting both sides of their decision and then giving the appropriate answers so that they could acquire the ingenuity and innovative insights. In school, for example, teachers boost students’ self-reliance and independence when they allow students to express their perspectives and make decisions rather than spoon-feeding them. Thus, these factors reduce the distress of feeling helpless or being controlled by the adults in young generation.

One the other hand, it is no doubt that children are possibly responsible for their choices, however, letting them make every decision all the time is an irrational thing. Since they are not mature enough to recognized the realities of life, they could rush to indistinct decision and deal with unpredictable consequences. Another ditrimental effect for this issue is that if the parents allow their children make their decision freedomly, the young may become more selfish as not only are they conceited but they also do not have the ability to involve the benefits of others into considerations.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that children are curious about everything exists around them and I believe that too autonomy sometimes might reversely affect their development, contributing to a self-centered society.
