Some people think movies should only be for entertainment. Others think that they should also have educational values.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

While some people consider films simply a form of entertainment, others suggest films should be educational. Although entertaining aspects of films can help people in some perspectives, I believe movies should have educational values.
On the one hand, many people watch films sorely to entertain themselves. As the world is full of stress, people have to withstand unrelenting pressure with their work. Watching movies is one of the best ways to escape from reality. It is because the movies are usually produced with fascinating and simplistic contents such as action or comedy and spectacular effects, which make audiences feel relaxed to watch. Furthermore, movies are a part of the entertainment industry which can make millions of dollars.
On the other hand, I concur with the view that movies should be instructive as well as entertaining. First, watching TV has long been one of the most popular activities among children. By watching movies which teach children lessons about life, they can be instilled with good morals and learn about how to behave towards others. Second, films also are perfect reflections of reality. Through movies, directors can impart to audiences about the problems in real-life such as violence, inequality in society or racism. For example, Parasite of director Bong Jun Ho reflects the difference between the poor who have lower social status and the upper classes. By watching educational movies, people can be more conscious of the real-life, thus tackling and improving the situations.
In conclusion, although some people think films should merely be entertaining, I hold the opinion that movies should educate people, especially about life.
