Please review my Task 2 Essay.

Films were produced by big companies in the past, but today people are able to make a film. Do you think this trend is positive or negative?

There has been an increase in the number of films self-made by independent producers recently. While in the past, filmmakers were usually big entertainment corporates. I believe this shift would have both positive and negative influences on the film industry.

To begin with, film productions would bring more opportunities for those who pursue filmmaking careers in the long run. With easy access to sources on the Internet, people would acquire more knowledge about how to make a film, including how to make the scripts or how to set up the background for the filming. This process would help them gain more experience. Also, this would help the film industry discover many prospectively talented producers. For example, many young amateur are well-received by the public through their excellent products, which draws great attention from big companies who may want to employ those potential directors.

However, since there are thousands of films posted on the Internet without assessment of the content and the age appropriation, the public could regard the film industry as negative influences. Those products might contain violence or offensive contents which could have detrimental effects on the viewers, especially children. Moreover, some producers infringe the copyright when they reproduce the ideas from products belonged to other filmmakers. This would make people think of the film industry as a place where most films are the same, and most directors lack creativity although the truth is reversed, and people in the industry are relatively creative.

In conclusion, more people could make a film on their own, which could open up a shining future for many potential producers. However, copyright and appropriation may be the negative sides of this trend.
