Please review my pros and cons essay, thank you so much

Some universities now offer their courses on the Internet so that people can study online. Is this a positive or negative development?

In recent years, internet-based learning has gained increasing popularity and numerous educational online courses have been introduced by universities. While there are several drawbacks of this trend, I believe its values are more significant.

It is clear that studying online exerts some adverse impacts on students. The principal reason is that this educational system involve insufficient direct interactions, which means students are not capable of engaging face-to-face with teachers. Consequently, their mentors could have enormous difficulties in giving feedback on their mistakes, enlightening them and instilling in students the value of learning. Another negative effect is that this educational method requires much self-study from learners. If they do not pay attention to their studies, they will probably waste their time and money on the grounds that teachers would not review and observe their academic progress.

Notwithstanding the above argument, I suppose that the advantages of online courses would eclipse those analyzed disadvantages. The most outstanding upside of this method is that students might study whenever they need, which means they have flexible schedules. For instance, it is easier for them to get access to the online course, no matter how the weather is. Furthermore, online classes give same opportunities for students from all walks of life. With the aid of internet, students in rural areas might take advantage of these courses, approaching their favorite teachers in comparison with those in metropolises.

In conclusion, based on the above discussion, studying online has both pros and cons; however, I suppose that the demerits would be outweighed by the merits.
