Please review my PhD motivation letter.
Dear Dr. AAA,
I am writing to apply for the PhD position available in the Homogeneous catalysis and reaction design group at the AAAA institute, AAA. This letter aims to show my suitability for the research fellowship and my motivation in pursuing the program.
I graduated from the University of AAA, AAA in 2011 with an M.Phil degree in chemistry major in organic chemistry. My undergraduate curriculum introduced me to a wide range of topics including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, a brief study on catalysis and my research work on "Synthesis and characterization of biologically active Schiff bases" sparked my interest in synthetic organic chemistry. My research work has been published in well reputed international journals (Details can be found on my attached Curriculum Vitae). My area of expertise include synthesis, characterization of nanomaterial by different techniques (like FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR), in detail UV/Visible spectroscopy, chromatography and elemental analysis. Based on these experiences I have developed strong interest in chemical synthesis and with this academic background and interest, I believe I am well qualified to meet the needs of the project.
My research abilities have been developed over my academic years. I worked on various research projects and I advanced my ability to read and assimilate information obtained from diverse material, interpret them and write report effectively. The research work brings me a great deal of experience in various chemical and analytical methods, enhanced my research ability and strengthened my passion for chemistry. Thus, I want to continue my research at a higher level. A PhD is an important and key conjunction between my past achievements and my future progress and an opportunity to make an impact in the field of chemistry. I wish to take this important step at AAAA institute.
The fellowship, I understand, aims to provide advanced skills and training in synthetic organic chemistry which will be a great chance for me to achieve my research interests. I believe AAAA institute will be the best place for me to conduct advanced research because of its emphasis on organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry. Moreover, the AAA Lab gives strong support to the research in innovative synthetic methodologies and their application in molecular sciences which makes MPI the most attractive place to conduct research work.
I am well aware of the dedication and perseverance that is needed to achieve the best results in this field and I believe that my experience will help me to achieve it. Very adaptive to new environment, capable to handle problems efficiently, social balance and the urge to gain more experience in applied researches make me a proper candidate for this position.
