The most commonly cited reasons for misconduct at school are associated with the children's upbringing and a desire for attention. To begin with, lack of education from parents is one of the factors that contributes to children's misbehavior. As children nowadays tend to be indulged and not well-educated at home, they may lack basic skills, which predispose them to behave wrongly at school. If parents let their children get away with some mistakes, they cannot recognize the consequences and may try to reoffend. Another cause of children's misconduct is associated with their crave for attention. When their parents are occupied with working or talking on the phone, kids often feel left out and seek attention by their misbehavior. In doing that, they can receive the attention they want, although negative. Therefore, kids will repeat this kind of action to continue getting attention. In short, both children's upbringing and aspiration for attention are causative factors leading to children's misbehavior.
