There is a growing trend towards buying new items to replace the old ones even they still work, and in recent years, our society is becoming a throwaway society for several reasons. First and foremost, thanks to technological developments, products now are easily made in large numbers with a different range of models. Therefore, there is no difficulty for customers to find new products which not only meet their requirements but also cost reasonable prices. Due to advances technology, items are updated continuously and added with more features which can provide users with numerous benefits. For instance, annually, in order to tempt customers into buying the latest items, technology companies release at least one new version of their products which is installed with more convenient functions such as a camera with higher megapixel, long-lived battery, etc. Another reason is our appetite for new products. After a hard working day, many consumers tend to purchase new things to relieve their stress. The possession of new items can help customers to refresh themselves and ease their pressure. In addition, some consumers are addicted to buying new things, they follow trends, and desire to possess the latest products with the newest features. Take Apple for example, each year, this brand introduces to the public an upgraded of iPhone, and this become one of the most popular events in the world. A great number of customers willing to throw away their old iPhones which have just been used for nearly a year in order to become one of the first person who possesses the newest one. In conclusion, throwaway society has become a concerned phenomenon, and this may cause serious consequences to our environment.
