The three maps illustrate how a small town near Melbourne changed during the period from 1900 to 2000.
Overall, the town became more developed with the construction of many facilities to the eastern side and the removal of many fruit-irrigated lands.
In 1900, the west-east road crossed out the river from north to south and a part of the town area. On the right side of the river laid two vast lands of oranges to the north and mandarins to the south. Opposite the town area located between two fruit lands, there was a dairy.
In the middle of the 20th century, a vaster area of lemons and grapefruit was replaced for the dairy to the western side. Similarly, the place of old mandarins made way for oranges. While the town area increased in size, the northern orange land remained intact. The most notable change was the eastern side with the addition of the track which paralleled to the river and two packing sheds along the track and a newly constructed tourist shop at the intersection of road and track.
In 2000, the western area again took place with a wildlife sanctuary, whereas there was a dismantling of packing sheds and the track to make space for the local museum and the craft market to the east. The middle area had the most changes with the wasting of two oranges and the reducing the town, as well as building the park.
