1. Some people claim that there are more disadvantages of the car than its advantages. Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, transportation plays an important role in individual’s life. Regarding using automobile, it is said that people just received more drawbacks from car rather than its benefits. In my opinion, the merits outstrip the demerits.

On the one hand, there are a few disadvantages brought by car. Undoubtedly, a huge amount of exhaust fumes is released into the air from private cars that it leads to air pollution, global warming or greenhouse effect. As a result, people often suffer from some diseases involving lung, cancer or cardio vascular. Furthermore, fossil fuels like oil or diesel are running out because of the increase of fuel consumption. Last but not least, if dweller drives car frequently, they will face some health issues like obesity or stress and even decrease in practices such as exercises, walking or running. Needless to say, they even using car in spite of short distance.

On the other hand, there are numerous benefits created by car. First, car is considered as the most convenient transportation among any mode of transport. For instance, people can go to different parts of the country whenever they like as well as no time is waited when waiting for bus or train. Hence, time or distance are not a barrier anymore. Second, families or many of friends also have a chance to go out together. For this reason, it become especially helpful when there are elderly, the disabled or sick members in the family.

In conclusion, car seems to the best and suitable choice to everyone in today’s world. Although it brings many bad issues in many aspects, the advantages far ouweigh its disadvantages. However, we must know when and how much to use car so that we can minimize the demerits to some extent.
