Please review my IELTS Wrting Task 2
Subject: Some people think that all teenagers should be required to do unpaid work in their free time to help the local community. They believe this would benefit both the individual teenager and society as a whole. Do you agree or disagree?
Many youngsters tend to work on a volunteer basis to be beneficial for both individual and social community as a whole. Some people believe that unpaid services should become compulsory for young people in their leisure time. However, in my opinion, I disagree that we should oblige all teenagers to do unpaid work.
First and foremost, most young people are naturally suffered from study pressures regardless of participating in volunteer events. School is as demanding as a full-time job, moreover, teachers always expect their students to do homeworks and exam revisions on top of their attending lessons. Therefore, when youngsters do have some free time, we should encourage them to go out with friends or to spend it doing sport and other leisure activities. By contrast, if we force students to take added responsibility for doing volunteer work in their spare time, they may get a lot of mental health issues.
Furthermore, volunteer work has to make youngsters more comfortable, not resentment. Forcing young peoples to engage in unpaid work can only lead to indignation because they would feel that they were being taken advantage of. Doing something against their will means that it goes against the values of a free and fair society.
In conclusion, young people may participate in volunteer services in spare time, but in my view, we should not force them to do this.
