Essay & Composition Writing

Please review my IELTS Writing task 2. Thanks in advance

Topic: Some People believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

My essay:
In this modern age of internationalism, there is an ongoing debate about whether people who studied in highly specialized majors, such as medicine and engineering, should have an obligation to stay and work in the country where they did their training or they should be able to find their working locations in accordance to their desires. I firmly believe that there should be no restrictions on their destinations after they have earned their degrees and certifications.

It is the right of any individual to be able to freely travel and select the suitable workplaces that they find most beneficial to their future careers. People with ambitions, and a capability to match, should find the environment that offers them the best conditions to further improve their life, namely better career opportunities and higher pay.

On the other hand, the processes of studying professional majors are extremely costly for individuals who participate. To ease that financial burden, governments, and other national organizations usually help the students pay a portion of the cost in the form of fee reductions or scholarships. Hence, every graduate who refuses to stay becomes a failed investment for the states. Nonetheless, the connections and bonds at the local level they have created over the years of studying will ensure an ample supply of professionals dedicated to their original countries.

This controversial topic will remain a relevant one in the future. In my opinion, the rights of individuals should be prioritized in this case. Professionals should always be in control of their destinations after graduation.
