Essay & Composition Writing

Please review my IELTS writing task 2. Thank you.

We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

It is argued that we should focus on supporting our locals because providing assistance to all people who are in need is impossible. In my opinion, this argument is not completely true.

It is important to prioritize problems faced by people in our communities and countries, and allocate considerable effort to overcome these problems. Issues such as crime, impoverishment, lack of resources and facilities are detrimental to the lives of our citizens. If these issues are not addressed and tackled, our country will not develop, our people will not be able to survive and to thrive. Thus, we need to pay attention and effort to resolve these issues, provide aids to our local inhabitants for our country’s development and our people’s survival.

At the same time, we all humans are united as one and we depend on each other regardless of the border. It is, therefore, our moral obligation to help people in other parts of the world as much as we can. Moreover, there are many shared issues that all nations are having, for example, climate change, inequality, food and water insecurity. These difficulties cannot be solved by one nation alone but they require collaboration between countries and people. We need to take action to reduce our carbon footprints to mitigate pollution, to speak up and advocate for equality to protect all human beings, to utilize our resources wisely so that everyone can have access to basic necessities like food and drinking water.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that helping our nations is essential but it does not mean we can neglect people and problems in other countries.
