Please review my IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay. Thanks you all!

Hello everyone. I am having my IELTS exam in December, so practicing is very crucial to me now. I would be very thankful if someone can review this Task 2 essay for me.

Topic: Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

As the world becomes more and more developed, gender equality has become more of a concern to our society. Many ideas are being introduced to make greater impacts on this problem, and the belief that it is necessary for universities to accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject is also one of them. But in my opinion, we should maintain a neutral view on this matter.

On the positive side, this action can affect greatly on erasing the gender barrier in many occupations. Gender roles - the belief that some jobs are for one certain gender only - are still deeply engraved into many people's minds, although less prominently than before. It prevents people of both genders to have the work they really want. Allowing equal numbers of men and women to study in the same field may give both sides equal chances in real life.

However, this may also go against the purpose of universities, as well as education - to educate students based on their needs and abilities. Schools limit the number of accepted students because they must make sure their students can follow their specially designed curriculum. Admitting inadequate students can lower the quality of the whole group, and this is not related to gender at all - it is just a matter of capability.

As people usually say "It is as bad to let a woman have a job because she is a woman as not doing so", we must always consider both sides of the matter, and choose our actions carefully.
