Topic: The best way to resolve the international environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is true that environmental problems are results of depending on fuel. While some people think that raising fuel prices will help to fight climate change, I disagree that it would represent the best way to alleviate environmental problems.

On the one hand, increasing the cost of fuel has some benefits in some ways. By adopting this policy, people will commute by transport public instead of using private cars. Fewer car journeys would mean a reduction in exhaust emissions. The good consequence is that global warming as well as air pollution will decrease gradually. The next benefit is that the use of fossil fuels graviates toward reducing. It means many countries will be less dependence on fuels which are dominated by a few conntry.

On the other hand, I suppose there are more effective ways to tackle intenational environmental problems. First and foremost, policy makers introduce some methods to restrict on private vehicles to resolve environmental issues as well as to improve traffic’s congestion. In China, for example, government prevents vehicles with odd number plates on even days and vice versa. Second, allocating resources to find alternative energy sources is the best way to cut down on emissions. Renewable energy such as from sun, wind or water should be a top priotity. It plays an important role in the sustanable development of nations.

In conclusion, although raising taxes on fuel would be a welcome measure, more effective steps are required to deal with the international environmental problems.
