Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems

Nowadays, growing traffic and pollution are some of the most serious issues all over the world. Therefore, the majority of people suggest the ultimate solution of increasing the expense of petrol. It is undeniable that boosting petrol price is an effective way to solve traffic and pollution, but there are other approaches to tackle these problems.

Petrol is the source of fuel for a lot of vehicles such as cars, bikes, trucks,…, which makes it a root reason for growing traffic as well as pollution problems. As the result, the government passes laws to raise the price of petrol with a view to reducing petrol use. This could improve the environment, diminish traffic jams and air pollution to an extent; however, could not solve the problems completely.

What this argument fails to take into consideration is that not only petrol but other factors in traffic contribute to congestion. First of all, it is overpopulation that creates a great deal of commuters. Therefore, appropriate population policies should be propagandized by the government in order to hinder overpopulation. For example, every family should be supported to have only from one to two children. In addition, the growth of factories and manufacturers should be controlled because those places emit a huge amount of pollutants into the air everyday. Moreover, authorities should have some environment-friendly campaigns in order to encourage people to save the environment and improve the standard of living

In a nutshell, enhancing the petrol price is quite effective but other solutions should be considered as to tackle pollution and traffic problems absolutely.
