The table compares five different nations in terms of the amount of money spent on Fairtrade coffee and bananas in two separate years 1999 and 2004.

Overall, in the given period, sales of Fairtrade coffee rose in all five European countries, while sales of Fairtrade bananas only went up in three countries: Switzerland, the UK and Belgium.

In 1999, the highest sales of Fairtrade coffee and bananas were in Switzerland, at 3 million euros and 15 million euros respectively. However, in 2004, there was a surge in sales of Fairtrade coffee in the UK, from 1,5 to 20 million euros and this was followed by that of Switzerland, at 6 million euros. Moreover, dramatical increases were seen in the amount of money spent on Fairtrade bananas in Switzerland and the UK, with revenues rising by 32 and 4,5 million euros respectively.

In contrast, sales of the two Fairtrade products were much lower in Belgium, Denmark and Sweden. We can see slight growth in the invested money in Fairtrade coffee. Revenue from Fairtrade bananas fell in Sweden and Denmark.
