The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian males and females in five age brackets who took part in physical activity on a regular basis in 2010. Overall, women are more physically active than men in almost all age groups, except for those aged 15-24.
Looking into details, only in the youngest age category did men take regular exercise more than women, with 52,8% and 47,7% respectively. However, between the ages of 25 and 44, women worked out more regularly than their male counterparts, ranging from 48,9% to 42,5%. The 35-44 age group shows the lowest percentage of men doing physical activity, accounting for only 39,5%.
Turning to the remaining groups, women aged 45 to 64 were the most active, with around 53% engaged in physical workouts. In contrast, men of the same group exercised much less, about 8% lower. Also, the percentage of males and females over 65 who do physical activity was roughly the same, at around 47%.
