Essay:

Knowledge and information are an infinite source; there is something that you want to learn every day. As the matter of fact, you can only acquire knowledge when it is shared. This spark a heated debate: some people believe scientific, business and technical information should be shared freely, while others think it is vital to keep some documents confidentially. In my opinion, both perspectives have its own right and wrong.

We are now living in an age where inventions and information are created every day. Sharing this information to the public is important because it helps to keep us update with the event and creation happening all around us: we can know the details of the event at the same time it occurred although you are half of the globe far apart. Also, researchers, scientists can manipulate these data and knowledge to ease our lives for the betterment of this society. For instance, the invention of cancel cure in the future will push the boundaries, be a breakthrough of medical science. This creation can safe millions of people suffering from deadly cancers. Sharing these useful knowledge can help student up to date with latest scientific achievements to inherent and develop them in the future.

On the other hand, sharing too much information can be very dangerous. News about politics, nuclear weapons, UFOs and so on are utmost sensitive and should be kept confidentially. If they are fallen into the wrong hands, it may cause wars, conflicts and even terrorists activities. Likewise, some information regarding business, arcane method, advanced technology which is about to be announced is kept privately by companies to stay ahead of the competition. If it is leaked, there will be a major loss in companies’ revenues or maybe bankruptcy. Similarly, Steve Jobs once said: “Lose lips, sink ships”.

In conclusion, my opinion is a neutral one because both approaches are reasonable but somewhat inappropriate. I think there is some knowledge should be published as soon as possible to make an improvement to the world while some should not be revealed to protect the safety of this world.
