The graph illustrates how much oil four major oil users consumed every day from 2009 to 2015, and an estimation of 2025 and 2030.

Overall, there was a decline in consumption in Western Europe and Japan, while the USA, China, and the Middle East underwent the opposite change. These trends are expected to continue in the future, except for the USA; in addition, the figures for the USA is consistently the highest throughout the period.

The total consumption of oil in the United States started at 9 million barrels daily, after which it rose to 10 million in 2015, before being anticipated to experience a decrease to shy of 8 million barrels in 2030. Western Europe and Japan witnessed a gradual fall in oil consumption from 4 million to 3 million barrels in 2015, followed by a projection of the same trend until 2030 to reach just 2 million.

China used 2 million barrels in the first year, then 3 million six years later. Its data is forecast to proceed to increase to nearly 4 million barrels, despite a slight fluctuation. Similarly, the Middle East showed a stable climb in consumption, beginning at the equal amount of consumption as China, and predictably ending with approximately 3 million barrels at the end of the period.
