Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think change is always a good thing.

Give reasons for your answers and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Changing has long been a part of human life. Although many people consider change as a necessary path in their lives, others try to prevent something new from happening at all costs. I believe each side has its reasons, and that changing or living in your comfort zone both has its benefits.

In general, we – humans – have our comfort zone, which gives us a sense of safety and protection. A lot of people spend their whole life living in this area as they are afraid of adopting new things. Psychologically, the fear of changing roots from the urge to control the situation and the acknowledgment of an unpredictable future awaiting beyond their comfort zone. Hence, they are frightened by the thoughts of having to deal with consequences if things get out of hand. In addition, changing means adjusting, yet not many people are physically and mentally ready for new adjustments, especially the ones with disabilities or mental disorders.

On the other hand, a majority of people willingly accept the changes. They consider change as a good way to grasp new opportunities and acquire knowledge. For instance, I used to be a defensive person, yet the moment I decided to change my attitude towards people who did not like me and treat them with kindness instead of hatred, I get to know people better and develop a friendly relationship with them. Besides, changing is one of the best ways to evolve to be a better version of yourself. Once you dare to step out of your comfort zone, you might meet difficulties indeed, but you will be more resilient and braver when you try your best to deal with them.

In conclusion, I believe there are pros and cons in accepting the change and living in your comfort zone. Humans always need to move forward and challenge themselves in life, but sometimes they deserve some stillness to settle their lives in the rush pace of the world.
