Some people think that new technology always improves lives of workers while others think it results in disadvantages for workers. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Some people propose that modern technology has brought some benefits to employees; whereas, others issue that it has some drawbacks for the workplace. From my perspective, I will discuss both views and give my reasons of why I subscribe to the former personally.
There are two main reasons why it could be argued that technology has made our working environment better. Firstly, finding market insights and attracting potential customers, companies use analytic market platforms to utilize a competitive advantage. For example, tableau, a renowned data software system, is getting popular nowadays, and companies are seeking the system to help, finding their strengths and attracting potential customers. Secondly, before computers are being used in the industry, workers took hours to finish their paperwork, by contrast, innovative technology has helped staff both work more efficiently and has increased productivity.
However, even though technology has transformed our work in better ways, there are some drawbacks for employees as well. Advanced technology has started booming over the past decade, as a result, the elderly workers take time to adjust, not to mention transferring past job routines. For example, my mom is struggled to learn computer techniques, taking hours to finish her work. Another drawback is modern technology cause employees lose concentration, for instance, people indulge in smartphone, thereby causing them easily distract on their job.
All in all, while there are some reasons to believe that staffs work inefficiently due to technology, my own view is that it actually changes our workplace and bring some benefits.
