Many people believe that TV news and media in general have a detrimental effect on our life. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your own opinion, including relevant examples.
In the modern era, serious repercussion of TV reports and media has somewhat a controversial issue. There are those who believe that TV reports and media have a bad effect, however other think otherwise. I totally agree with notion that TV news and media bring about a beneficial effect.
In general, there are two logically compelling rationale why I wholeheartedly believe that TV and media have salutary effects. Possibly the positive effect why I am in favour this idea is that TV news makes its audience keenly aware what is going on. For example, freezing cold snap news which is about to hit the UK. As a beneficial result, people can take some precautions such as stocking food and trying hard not to get outside. Furthermore, news media have a role in forming good public opinion, which can be used for worthy causes. For example, news on refugees can make some people feel pity, with some donating money and food.
Despite these convincing arguments, there is also a cogent case for the idea that TV news and media exert negative effects. Perhaps the primary reason for this notion is that TV news frequently exaggerates stale and gloomy news. As a result, some people feel desperate, anxious and depressed. This could lead to eventually psychology and psychiatric problem, with some elderly having heart attacks after hearing this unwelcome news.
In conclusion, what TV and media broadcast to is somewhat relevant to modern digital society. Overall, I would have to agree that television reports and media have socially beneficial effects, with media being encouraging to report proportionally good and bad news.
