Topic: Many sport players advertise sport-related products. What are advantages and disadvantages of it?

A large number of sportsmen are sponsored to publicize sport-related goods. While the benefits this practice brings are glaring, there are still some drawbacks to customers.

On the one hand, advertisements for sports merchandise by sportspersons are advantageous to a certain extent. First, sports players often have a lot of fans who tend to buy what their idols introduce. Therefore, when there are more fans consuming the products which are advertised by sports celebrities, the sales of those goods could be increased. This would bring profits significantly to the manufacturers. Second, the major of sports players is definitely sports. As a result, they could have deep knowledge about the benefits and drawbacks of the products they advertise. Thus, they would choose high-quality goods to introduce to consumers. This would bring advantages to the health of goods users.

On the other hand, besides sportspersons who advertise sport-related products selectively, there are also others who market for earning money. In other words, they would not care about the quality of the goods they are sponsored for marketing and they would agree to advertise the products for any manufacturers if they are paid highly. As a result, they could sometimes advertise the products with low quality. It could be said that sport-related products would have a direct impact on the health of users. Hence, if customers buy these products according to the advertisements they could have discomforts when using these products or even be affected badly in the aspect of health.

In conclusion, that sports celebrities are paid for the sports merchandise brings a lot of benefits to the manufacturers and goods consumers. However, this trend sometimes has bad influences on people who purchase these products as well.
