Some people think adults should give children freedom to make mistakes. Others think adults should prevent children from making mistakes. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
My essay:
Nowadays, many people believe that children should be given enough freedom to make mistakes, while others insist that parents should keep children away from making mistakes. The way I see it, each side has its own merits, so I think we should strike a balance between these two points.
There is an old saying that to err is human. Everyone will make mistakes especially teenagers. Child age is more likely to make mistakes as compared to other age group since they are free of responsibilities and tensions. Sometime children make some foolish blunders as they are unable to distinguish right from wrong. So it is impossible to help children totally stay away from mistakes. Actually, children should be given enough freedom to make faults since they demonstrate the capacity, judgement and maturity. Only through constant practicing, of course along with numerous mistakes, can children develop their own skills and knowledge that they might need to achieve success in the future. Doing so will leverage the power of responsibility to ensure the healthy development of kids.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that teachers and parents should bear the responsibility of actions of teen kids. Therefore, adults should keep an eye on children when they do something on their own and correct them if necessary. Otherwise, they might face serious consequence that they cannot afford. It is often the case that children who break the laws come from the family that lacks supervision. There are many ways to direct children. But proper guidance and advice are must since they lead to a paradigm shift in their performance.
Personally, I back up partially the perspective that children have freedom to make some mistakes, which is significant to their independence. While I am in favor of that adult should take responsibility to avoid children from making big mistakes.
