WRITING TASK 2

Computers are now the basis of the modern world. They should therefore be introduced into classrooms, and their programs used for direct teaching purposes. However, dependence on computers in teaching may carry a certain degree of risk to students.

Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

my answer:

Nowadays, people can not imagine a world without computers as it is already embedded in their daily life. Many programs on computers can be applied for teaching purposes such as Google Workspace, Microsoft offices, or Zoom. In my opinion, using computers could aid teachers to deliver materials more effortlessly. On the other hand, they should discern some issues that may be a threat to students.

By using a computer, teachers could distribute many assignments in a short time and much more accurately. For instance, using Microsoft presentations could help students comprehend the material more surely. In addition, there are some materials that cannot be explained by using lectures only, but instead require online instruments for visual learners to support the teachers. Furthermore, in the era of pandemics, it is impossible for teachers to face-to-face classes with their students. Hence utilizing google meet or zoom may be handy for teaching virtually.

On the other hand, there are some problems that the pupils should be aware of, such as data protection. There are some people who have an evil intention to hack the data on their computers due to weak data protection, which allows them to access files easily. In my experience, some students can see, copy, and save the other student’s data since it is not secured by a password. Moreover, many pupils use computers not for educational purposes such as gaming which can serve as a distraction.

Computers could be one of the best instruments for educators to elevate the method of learning. Nonetheless, they should be aware that some trouble could occur if the computer is used arbitrarily.
