Please review my IELTS task 2

Topic: When designing a building, the most important factor is intended use of the building rather than its outward appearance. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

My essay:

Many people claim that the intended purpose of a building structure take priority over other factors. I completely disagree with that idea and the outward appearances of the building is also a key factor, beside the function itself.

On the one hand, the function of the building is important, for sure, and it is one of the appealing factors that catch the attention of investors. If the building is unable to match the usage trend of the market, then it is more likely to be a failed project. For example, there will be possible to take advantage of the large empty spaces, which is located in the suburb area, to turn into the camping site or build picnic area rather than a supermarket or school. Therefore, when designing the building, considering its purpose may play the crucial role in attracting investments and ensuring the possibility of success after completion.

On the other hand, the design of the building serves a specific function, however, does not mean that their aesthetic qualities should be ignored. A particular functional building may still be devalued if it has nothing impressed or even looks ugly. For instance, people tend to choose a restaurant with modern and elegant decoration rather than the one with normal appearance and less impressive. The centers of the cities like Paris show it is possible for historic buildings to possess characters which satisfy the tourists but is totally not incompatible with the commercial building as offices, stores and apartments.

In conclusion, I believe that the intended use is not enough to make a building successful, its appearance is equally essential.
