Please review my IELTS task 1

The diagram below shows how newspapers are produced and recycled.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

My essay:

The diagram depicts the production and recycling of newspapers.

Overall, the diagram is a cyclical and largely mechanical process comprising of three main stages: gathering raw materials, processing these into pulp, and finally manufacturing newspapers, part of which eventually go back to be recycled.

The first stage of the process includes collecting pine trees thinned from a forest and discarded newspapers from recycling bins, schools or businesses.

The second stage is wholly mechanical and the most intensive, consisting of seven steps. As for the plants, they are put into a drum to separate out the barks. The wood is then chopped into smaller pieces by passing it through a chipper. Subsequently, the chips go through a thermomechanical refiner to be turned into pulp. Meanwhile, the papers are made into pulp after collection. At this point, the pulp is contaminated with ink, so the next step is to remove this undesired element. The resulting pulp is further cleaned and then fine screened. finally, it is mixed with the thermomechanical pulp.

In the third stage, the output mixture is added with water and passed through a machine, producing paper, which is eventually used to make the final product.
